(ECNS)-- Twenty-three Singaporean tourists arrived at Haikou Meilan International Airport in Haikou, capital of south China’s Hainan Province, on Thursday, marking the first Singaporean inbound tourist group received by Hainan since China opened its bordersto foreign tourist groups on March 31, according to the province’s tourism regulator on Friday.
The tour group was organized by the Chan Brothers Travel Agency in Singapore. During their 6-day trip, the tourists will visit many famous attractions in Haikou, such as Qilou Old Street, Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, and Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park.
Singapore is one of the first batch of countries with whom China has resumed outbound group tours. With further adjustments to entry measures for foreigners and the resumption of Hainan's visa-free policy for tourists from 59 countries, the island has become one of the top preferred destinations for Singaporean travelers.
The passenger flight route between Haikou and Singapore resumed in mid-March, and the frequency has been increased to up to six flights per week, providing more convenience for tourism, trade, and personnel exchanges.
