(ECNS) -- Five trucks carrying 134 metric tons of purple sweet potatoes from Vietnam arrived at Shuikou Port in Longzhou County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday, marking the first shipment of imported Vietnamese purple sweet potatoes to China.
Longzhou County has actively taken advantage of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership to promote mutual exports of high-quality agricultural and food products between China and Vietnam.
Three companies in Longzhou have reached an agreement with Vietnamese companies on the import and export of Vietnamese purple potatoes, and the annual import volume is expected to exceed 100,000 metric tons.
"We will promote the trade of high-quality goods from China and ASEAN countries with better services," said Huang Renrong, a local official.
