(ECNS) -- More than 1,300 Chinese nationals have been safely evacuated from Sudan, some of whom left by Chinese naval vessels, while others are currently on route, Chinese FM spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on Thursday.
There are still a small number of Chinese citizens outside the capital Khartoum, and China is closely monitoring their safety and will continue to make every effort to assist them, Mao added.
Upholding the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, China has been actively assisting in the evacuation of citizens from other countries, Mao said.
China has helped five countries to evacuate their nationals from Sudan. Some other countries have also requested assistance from China, and we will continue to assist them as much as possible, she added.
