(ECNS) -- Thursday marks the last day of the second phase of the 133rd Canton Fair. A total of 815,000 people have visited the fair while the export transaction volume exceeded 4.5 billion U.S. dollars, said a spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Thursday.
With nearly 12,000 exhibitors, the second phase of the fair mainly exhibited light industrial products such as daily consumer goods, gifts, and home decorations.
Low-carbon products were one of the highlights of the fair, MOC spokesperson Shu Jueting told a press conference, adding that 250,000 green low-carbon products were exhibited, accounting for half of the Canton Fair this year.
Besides, many companies exhibited products featuring innovation, which accelerates industry upgradation.
The 23rd World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated during the second phase. The Canton Fair supports an intellectual property complaint system both online and offline to maintain good trading practices, Shu said.
In addition, new themed exhibition areas were established, such as the maternal and child products exhibition area, whichprovided new business opportunities.
As of Thursday, the number of online purchasing attendees exceeded 390,000, among which over 360,000 were from overseas, accounting for approximately 91 percent of the total, she added.
The third phase of the Canton Fair will be held from May 1 to 5, mainly exhibiting textile and garments, shoes, office supplies, bags and leisure products, food, medicine, and healthcare products.
