(ECNS) -- China's first domestically-produced large cruise ship Adora Magic City, manufactured in Shanghai, is expected to be delivered by the end of this year, starting international routes from Shanghai.
Over the course of more than three years, the project team successfully tackled three key technologies: weight control, vibration reduction and noise reduction, and safe return to port, which led to a series of technological innovations and filled the gap in the field of domestically-produced large-scale cruise vessels.
It is expected that by the end of this year, the Adora Magic City will begin its international routes with Shanghai as its homeport, sailing to destinations in Japan and Southeast Asia. It will also introduce medium and long-haul routes such as the "Maritime Silk Road," offering a diverse range of travel and vacation options.
The local immigration checkpoint said that advance exit (port) plans have been developed to provide safe and efficient customs clearance convenience for the ship.
The construction of the ship began in 2019. It has a total length of 323.6 meters, width of 37.2 meters. It has a total of 2,826 cabins and can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers.
The upper decks of the ship, spanning 16 floors, feature a variety of leisure facilities, including a theater, specialty restaurants, a shopping plaza, an art gallery, and a water park. It is renowned as a mobile "seaborne modern city."
