(ECNS) -- The Chinese Billiards& Snooker Association (CBSA)on Wednesday stated that strict and severe punishments would be imposed after the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) issued bans on 10 Chinese players accused of match-fixing offense on Tuesday.
The CBSA maintains a "zero tolerance" policy toward behavior that violates sports ethics, it said, adding that it will resolutely and strictly crack down on activities like gambling and match-fixing, striving to create a fair and just competitive environment.
The independent WPBSA Disciplinary Commission on Tuesday delivered its decision on the 10 players charged with match fixing offences and have issued two lifetime bans for Liang Wenbo and Li Hang, and lengthy bans for the other players concerned.
