Insights | Michael Borchmann: The success of CPC derives from its close link with people

(ECNS)-- 2023 marks the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China(CPC). During the interview with China News Network, Dr. Michael Borchmann, former head of the European and International Affairs Department of the federal German state of Hesse, noted that the CPC is very close to the people, which leads to its success.

"Something special about the CPC is that there are nearly 100 million members of the Party, and that means a big participation of the people in China," Borchmann said, "Since the starting of the reform and opening-up policy, China has a development that has no example in human history."

Speaking of the Chinese way of modernization, he added that there is no alternative way for the Chinese way into the future than the way of broad modernization in all fields, including industry, agriculture, defense, science and technology, and the environment.

"This would not be possible only with economic measures," Borchmann analyzed, "you must have broad measures, and that means development in education, and in technology. This is the permanent way" to land such achievements.

"The reason for China's successes is permanent modernization, permanent progressing and not being content with 'where we are now'", Borchmann concluded.
