(ECNS) --The Communist Party of China (CPC) has actually delivered to the expectation of all the people living in China and beyond in the past 100 years and more, said a Pakistani scholar in an online interview with China News Network.
“I think the political party which has actually delivered for the right of the people and for the will of its people has been the (CPC),” said Hassan Daud Butt, associate professor at Bahria University and former director of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
Butt noticed that every CPC member respects the great civilization of China and the right of people of China. They have delivered on the socioeconomic development path where they have taken more than 80 million people out of poverty from 2013 to 2018.
“I think CPC has actually delivered to the request and demand of its people. I was in China recently. I was working with Peking University and I saw from each age group from young, middle-aged people and all were happy because they were becoming richer. The country is becoming prosperous. And all this is because of the great policies of the CPC in China,” said Butt.
Butt also mentioned the CPC is working towards the betterment of the whole planet and also for the people of the world. Through Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), it’s ensuring that the world is better connected.
As for China’s opening-up policy, Butt thinks it has offered a lot of lessons for countries like Pakistan. The CPC has actually led from the front and gone to each town to address the socioeconomic development, he said, adding that the opening-up policy has actually helped bring industrialization and investments to the country, and actually helped realize the true potential of Chinese people. "Each step and decision that the CPC has taken has actually contributed to the development of China."
Butt especially praises the BRI for being one of the greatest initiatives given by China and its leadership. It has brought trade and business along the route up to 1 trillion (U.S. dollar). It has created more than 400,000 jobs and helped countries reduce travel time by almost 12 percent.
“Take Pakistan as an example, our export of fish products to China has increased. Our blue economy has grown better through the development of Gwadar Port and the Sea Belt. And very soon, we will have the new Gwadar Airport being built under the BRI. So Pakistan has benefited fully from this great initiative,” said Butt.
The associate professor believes the concept of Chinese modernization also means responsible growth. As China develops and becomes modernized, other countries, especially its neighboring countries, also benefit, he said.
In his eyes, Chinese modernization is also about biodiversity. It has brought new agriculture. It is trying to address climate change, and bring new industries where the environment is not affected. “So it provides food security, development, economic growth, prosperity. And more importantly, it makes everyone happier and richer,” said the scholar.
Butt is a user of Huawei products and WeChat. He said he sees the growth and technology becoming so important through WeChat as the connectivity and access to information and knowledge have been improved. He pointed out that “what China is doing is not just sharing information but also creating knowledge and wisdom." When you create knowledge and wisdom by new ideas, new concepts, new R&D, new innovation, this path helps other countries, he explained.
“I congratulate the CPC for its 102nd anniversary, not just its birthday, but also congratulate the CPC members for all the great achievements that they have made over the years from a very meager start to the great achievement of becoming the second economy of the world,” concluded Butt.
