(ECNS) --China will restore an additional land of over 2 million hectares by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) period, Wang Hong, the country’s vice minister of natural resources said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Wang said the integrated ecological protection and restoration projects cover mountains, rivers, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasslands and deserts. Till now, 5.3 million hectares of land have been restored.
China also plans to carry out ecological restoration of 186,666 hectares of abandoned mines and restore 400 kilometers of coastline and 20,000 hectares of coastal wetlands, he said.
