(ECNS) -- A direct air route between Sanya in south China's Hainan Province, and Vietnam’s Hanoi, opened on Monday, according to the Sanya Phoenix International Airport.
A Vietravel Airlines Flight VU1418 carrying 118 passengers took off from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and arrived at Sanya Airport at 01:36 a.m. on Monday, marking the official opening of the route.
There are two flights per week on Thursdays and Sundays, with a flight duration about 3 hours and 20 minutes for round trip. The inbound flight is designated as VU1418, departing from Hanoi at 23:40 local time and arriving in Sanya at 01:20 the next morning. The outbound flight is designated as VU1417, departing from Sanya at 2:30 and arriving in Hanoi at 04:10 local time.
This air route will contribute to cultural, tourism, and economic exchanges between Sanya and Vietnam, according to the Sanya Phoenix International Airport.
Throughout this year, the Sanya airport has resumed or opened international and regional passenger routes connecting Sanya to Hong Kong, Seoul, Jakarta, and more.
