High-rise office building in Tianjin catches fire

(ECNS) -- A high-rise office building in Tianjin was engulfed by fire on Tuesday.

Tianjin Fire Rescue Center received a report at about 2:24 p.m. local time that the exterior wall of Xintiandi Building on Nanjing Road in Nankai District had caught fire.

The 27-story structure has two underground levels.

It immediately dispatched 284 firefighting and rescue personnel and 62 firefighting trucks from 23 fire stations.

Flameson the external insulation layer of the building had been extinguished and rescuers entered for evacuation and search. No casualties have been reported so far. 

An investigation is underway.
