(ECNS) -- Typhoon Haikui, the 11th of this year, made landfall in the coastal area of southeast China's Fujian Province at around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Central Meteorological Observatory.
Haikui is expected to move westward at the speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour, and land again along the coast at the border of Guangdong and Fujian to Shantou, Guangdong Province.
Affected by Haikui, most of Fujian, eastern Guangdong, southeastern Jiangxi, southern Zhejiang, and northwest Taiwan Island will experience heavy rain from Tuesday to Wednesday.
