(ECNS) -- The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) has handled a total of 1.45 million passenger trips with an average occupancy of 99.6 percent in first 100 days since it was put into operation on Oct. 17, 2023, according to the China State Railway Group Co. Ltd.
The high-speed railway operates 40 trips daily from the previous 14 trips, and 48 trips during weekend travel rush period. A total of 3,487 high-speed trains operated during the first 100 days, with a maximum daily volume of 21,537 passengers per day.
With a design speed of 350 km per hour, the 142.3-km long high-speed line connecting Indonesia's capital city Jakarta and Bandung shortens the journey between from over three hours to around 40 minutes.
