(ECNS) -- China's Tibet Airlines signed an order for 40 C919 passenger jetliners and 10 ARJ21 regional jets for high-altitude plateaus with the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) during the Singapore Airshow on Tuesday, according to COMAC.
Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Group signed an agreement with COMAC for six converted ARJ21 regional jets, including ARJ21 for firefighting, medical services and emergency rescues.
The high-altitude version of C919 jetliner is designed with shortened fuselage to meet the transportation requirements. With 140 -160 seats, it can take off and land at high-altitude airports.
The high-altitude version of ARJ21 passenger jet has a maximum takeoff and landing altitude of 14,500 feet. It has good crosswind resistance for a majority of high-altitude airports in China.
