(ECNS) -- Short-term mobile SIM cards for visitors from aboard and the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions are available in Shanghai with valid dates from 7, 15 through 30 days and a fixed price of 85 yuan ($11.8), 125 yuan and 195 yuan respectively, according to Shanghai Telecom on Thursday.
Telecom stores at Shanghai Pudong International Airport will be put into services.
As one of the most popular tourist cities in the mainland for foreigners and people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, Shanghai received a total of 358,300 visitors, including 255,100 from overseas, 34,800 from Hong Kong and Macao and 8,400 from Taiwan region, according to data from the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Statistics.
Shanghai Telecom plans to open stores at the arrival of Terminal T1 of Shanghai Pudong International Airport, which is expected to enter service in August this year, allowing visitors to subscribe to a short-term mobile service and Wi-Fi rental service upon arrival in Shanghai.
