(ECNS) -- An out-of-control bus ran over pedestrians in Nanchang, east China's Jiangxi Province on Monday, killing at least three people.
The bus lost control and veered into a crowd of pedestrians on Dielong Road, from the intersection of Shengli Road to the intersection of Zigu Road at about 11:42 a.m. Three people died at the scene while seven others were injured and taken to hospital.
Currently, the driver, a man surnamed Li, has been detained by the police.
According to preliminary investigations, the 51-year-old driver suffered a sudden heart attack and lost consciousness while driving the vehicle throug the intersection. Further investigations are underway.
