(ECNS) -- China's e-commerce logistics index has risen for three consecutive months, reaching a new six-year high in May, industry data said.
In May, the China E-commerce Logistics Index stood at 113.9 points, up 0.7 points from the previous month, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.
The data indicates that e-commerce consumption enjoys balanced development across the country, said Liu Yuhang, director of the China Logistics Information Center.
In terms of demand, e-commerce consumption related to outdoor sports, travel equipment, and food delivery has grown rapidly. The total business volume index and rural business volume index for e-commerce logistics increased by 2.1 points and 1.8 points respectively, reaching 129.8 points and 129.7 points, with growth rates close to 30 percent compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, with mid-year online shopping festivals approaching, mainstream e-commerce platforms have started promotions, further driving e-commerce business volume.
