(ECNS) -- Officers, in coordination with local emergency services, successfully evacuated all 500 residents from 176 households to safety from rain-flooded villages in Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday.
A severe thunderstorm hit Baise, causing flooding in some villages, with roads blocked and power cut.
According to the local meteorological department, from the evening of June 7 to the next morning, Napo County in Baise experienced torrential rains, leading to urban waterlogging with streets in low-lying areas flooded.
There are forecasts of more heavy rainfall in Baise for the coming days.
