(ECNS) -- Permanent residents in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region who are non-Chinese citizens can apply for travel permits to the Chinese mainland starting Wednesday, according to the National Immigration Administration.
This will make travel to the mainland more efficient and convenient for these individuals.
Permit holders can travel to the Chinese mainland multiple times within the five-year validity period. Each stay may not exceed 90 days.
After completing fingerprint collection and other procedures at ports of entry, permit holders can go through immigration clearance through E-channels, according to the Administration.
