(ECNS) -- Since the advent of the electricity transmission from northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to other parts of China in 2010, the total electricity delivered to 20 provinces, autonomous regions and cities has reached 801.4 billion kilowatt-hours, exceeding the 800 billion kilowatt mark while serving 1.4 billion people for 249 days.

Most notably, electricity generated from renewable sources in Xinjiang amounts to 230 billion kilowatts, accounting for nearly 30 percent of the total transmitted electricity, which means one out of every three kilowatt-hours comprises green power.

As one of China's nine major clean energy bases,Xinjiang achieved a total of 22.51 million kilowatts of installed capacity of new energy connected to the grid in 2023, exceeding the sum of the previous eight years.

Xinjiang has built more than 10 megawatt-hours new energy clusters. Installed capacity of new energy hit 8.038 million kilowatts in Xinjiang as of July 12, or 50 percent of its total installed capacity.

The fifth ultra-high voltage transmission channel in Xinjiang, Hami-Chongqing ±800kV ultra-high voltage transmission project, is expected to enter operation in 2025. Upon completion, Xinjiang will transmit 33 million kilowatts of electricity, and the proportion of clean energy will increase from nearly 30 percent to 50 percent of the total transmitted electricity.
