(ECNS) -- As the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris is about to open, Chinese volunteers said in an online interview with China News Network that they are proud of being volunteers at the Olympic Games and fully expect Chinese athletes to attain their best again.
Kong Jie, an assistant volunteer from North China’s Shenyang city who works at National Olympic Committees, said, “I submitted an application for the volunteer program as soon as it was released, and cannot believe that I passed it smoothly”.
Volunteer Wang Duoer, who has lived in France for two years, was “deeply touched by French enthusiasm for the Olympic Games” when she participated in the Volunteer Convention for the Paris Olympics in March.
Wang’s main work is to assist reporters in delivering information about the events to worldwide audiences timely. “This is the first time I have participated in such a large international event. I will do my best to complete the task”, she said.
Another volunteer Lin Xinming, who majors in French at Tianjin Normal University, gained sweet memories during the work. Lin shared topics with her coworkers from across the world about giant pandas and Chinese cuisine. She said, “It is very significant for people from different cultural backgrounds to get along well, and this enhances the understanding and cooperation between us ”.
The Olympic Games Paris 2024 has included breaking, skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing as new sports. Volunteer Guo Changxin, cultivated by Yunnan University and Alliance French in Kunming, expressed the expectation for Chinese breaking performances, believing that Chinese breaking team would make their Olympic debut and win the games.
