(ECNS) -- China is expected to build the first batch of over 30 national postal delivery hubs by 2027, according to a guideline issued by the State Post Bureau of China, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and eight other departments on Monday.
By 2035, another 50 hubs will be constructed to form a comprehensive, smart, green, and safe logistics network with higher operation efficiency.
Regarding regional distribution, among the 80 national postal delivery hubs, about 15 will cover the global businesses, 20 will focus on regional businesses, and 45 will be nationwide with 1-3 functional areas located at each, the joint statement said.
Over 100 cities across the country will be selected to serve as delivery hubs based on their strategic position, radiation area, agglomeration effect, and operation efficiency.
China will accelerate the construction of national postal delivery hubs in manufacturing industry clusters, build a number of national postal express hubs for business services, and set up national postal express hubs in major producing areas of fresh agricultural products, China Post Bureau said.
It will also formulate standards and guidelines for the construction of national postal delivery hubs, said the statement.
