(ECNS) -- The world's largest clean energy corridor generated 70 kilowatt-hours of electricity on July 31, setting a new record high, according to China Three Gorges Corporation on Tuesday.

Baihetan hydropower station, a mega station in the upper section of the Yangtze River, produced 16 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, achieving full operation for the first time since its production in 2022.

Multiple regions across China are experiencing sweltering heat, driving power demand. The China Three Gorges Corporation has continued to increase the power supply through the world's largest clean energy corridor, effectively easing shortages in certain regions.

Six mega hydropower stations, Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Three Gorges and Gezhouba stations, form the world's largest clean energy corridor which was officially put into operation in December 2022.

Spanning more than 1,800 kilometers with a water level drop exceeding 900 meters, it has a total installed capacity of 71.695 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to the installed capacity of 3 Three Gorges power stations.
