(ECNS) -- The SA750U, China's first large unmanned cargo aircraft with a payload capacity exceeding 3 metric tons, completed its maiden flight at the dedicated drone test airport in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, on Thursday.
The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 7,500 kilograms, a maximum payload of 3,200 kilograms, a maximum range of 2,200 kilometers, and a maximum cruising speed of 308 kilometers per hour.
It can take off fully loaded within a runway distance of about 400 meters at low altitudes and fly at altitudes of up to 7,300 meters, with a cargo hold volume of 25.8 cubic meters.
Its primary applications include regional air logistics, unmanned material delivery in specific scenarios, and firefighting in forests and grasslands.
It took 2 years and 8 months from conceptual design to the maiden flight. The aircraft was independently developed by Hunan Shanhe Huanyu Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. and strategically advanced by Sunward Aircraft Co., Ltd.
