(ECNS) -- Beijing's Capital Airlines has launched a new direct flight route from Huangshan Airport in east China's Anhui Province to Muan County in South Korea. It became the first air route to Muan since the opening of Huangshan Airport.
A plane carrying 172 passengers from Muan landed at Huangshan Airport at 8:40p.m. on Friday.
The Huangshan-Muan flight, a temporary charter route running to October 26, takes off from Huangshan Airport at 15:00 Beijing time, and returns from Muan Airport at 19:20 local time every Tuesday and Friday.
Starting from September 16, Huangshan to Seoul and Daegu to Huangshan charter flights will take off every Wednesday and Saturday.
Huangshanboasts the picturesque Mount Huangshan, a world cultural and natural heritage site and topped the list of destinations in China for tourists from the ROK.
In 2005, First direct charter flights from Huangshan to Seoul were lunched operated by Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. The airport's first international route, Huangshan to Seoul was put into operation in 2011.
In 2012, it opened temporary direct charter flights to Busan, Cheongju and Daegu cities in South Korea. The air routes to South Korea were shut down in February 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
