(ECNS) -- China’s self-developed AES100 advanced civil turboshaft engine was unveiled on Wednesday at the 15th Airshow China in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.
With the take-off power of 1,100 kW, it can be installed on a 5-6 metric ton twin-engine helicopter or a 3-metric ton single-engine helicopter.
It is China's first fully independently-developed, advanced civil turboshaft engine, which meets the international standards and has been certified by Civil Aviation Administration of China.
According to Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), the AES100 turboshaft engine boasts high efficiency, low fuel consumption, long lifespan, and high reliability.
Li Gaiqi, chief designer of the AES100 engine, stressed that it can operate safely and stably under complex conditions such as icing, heavy rain, and strong electromagnetic environments.
Helicopters equipped with such engines can perform a variety of missions, including patrol, rescue, sightseeing, and business flights, demonstrating strong environmental adaptability and broad application potential.
