(ECNS) -- China firmly opposes new restrictions by the United States on exports of semiconductor chips and chipmaking equipment, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
These control measures further tighten the export of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, storage chips, and other items to China. To date, 136 Chinese companies have been added to the entity list of export control.
“This action is a typical economic coercion and non-market practice. The United States is acting contrary to its words, constantly overstretching the concept of ‘national security’, abusing export control measures, and resorting to unilateral bullying tactics,” the spokesperson said.
The U.S. abuse of control measures severely disrupts normal economic and trade relations among countries, undermines market rules and the international trade order, and poses a significant threat to the stability of global supply chains.
The global semiconductor industry, including U.S. companies, has been severely impacted. China will take the necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, according to the spokesperson.
