(ECNS) - Ma Ying-jeou, former chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang party, will lead a delegation of young people from Taiwan to visit the Chinese mainland from December 18 to 26, a mainland spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said the delegation will attend the Cross-Strait Youth Ice and Snow Festival which is going to be held in Heilongjiang Province on Dec. 18 and visit Sichuan Province, as well as participate in related cultural and exchange activities.
“We welcome Mr. Ma Ying-jeou’s visit and will ensure all arrangements are in place,” Zhu said. She highlighted China’s rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes as a shared heritage and home for people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
