(ECNS) -- The first regular international flight from Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province to Phnom Penh, Cambodia was launched on Wednesday.
This marks the first international route opened by Ningbo Lishe International Airport in 2025 as well as the maiden operation of Cambodia Airways at the airport.
The route will operate three times a week -- on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flight No. KR918 departs Ningbo Lishe International Airport at 1:30 p.m. (local time), and arrive in Phnom Penh at 4:50 p.m. (local time). The return flight No. KR917 will take off at 7:40 a.m. and land in Ningbo at 12:30 p.m.
“Traveling to Cambodia used to involve time-consuming and costly connections. Now, the direct flight makes the journey much more convenient,” said a passenger surnamed Pang on the inaugural flight.
This new route establishes a vital air link between Ningbo and ASEAN nations, paving the way for closer exchanges and deeper economic and trade cooperation.
The year 2024 has been a record-breaking one for Ningbo Airport, with passenger traffic reaching new heights. As of midnight on Dec. 11, the airport's annual passenger throughput exceeded 14 million, cementing its status as a key transportation hub.
