(ECNS) -- A new direct flight connecting Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with Haiphong, Vietnam, was launched on Tuesday.
Operated by Qingdao Airlines, the route will run three times a week -- on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flight QW6185 departs from Nanning Wuxu International Airport at 1:15 p.m. (Beijing time) and arrives in Haiphong at 2:20 p.m. (Beijing Time). The return flight, QW6186, leaves Haiphong at 3:20 p.m. and lands in Nanning at 4:55 p.m.
The launch of this new route is expected to strengthen economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between Guangxi and Vietnam, fostering closer trade ties and boosting tourism.
Notably, 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
In recent years, Guangxi has worked to expand civil aviation links with ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries, building a more efficient and convenient China-ASEAN air corridor.
In 2024, Nanning Airport resumed 19 international and regional routes, connecting to 15 destinations, including Bangkok in Thailand, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Manila in the Philippines, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
