Mist of Rainy and Kuei Ya-Lei

The 1966 film Mist of Rainy was adapted from the novel of the same name by Chiung Yao. It features a love triangle with two daughters of a warlord who are both in love with the same man. The book has been adaptated several times, including the 2001 TV series Romance in the Rain, starring Zhao Wei.

Kuei Ya-Lei played the protagonist Lu Yiping in the film and won the best actress award at the 4th Golden Horse Award. Born in 1944, Kuei Ya-Lei has become a veteran actress, playing many impressive screen roles.

Fantasies Behind the Pearly Curtain and Patrick Tse

Chiung's novel Fantasies Behind the Pearly Curtain was adapted into a film for the first time in 1975. It is another love triangle that changes each of the three people's fate and attitudes towards life.

The film starred Patrick Tse, who was very popular from 1960s-80s in Hong Kong. Patrick also appeared in many martial arts films and TV series, including the classic 1983 The Legend of the Condor Heroes. His son Nicholas Tse is also a pop singer who once enjoyed great popularity.
