Green Grass along the River and Steve Ma

Premiered in 1992, the TV series was adapted from Chiung's novel Six Dreams. It tells the story of two orphans, Qing Qing and Xiao Cao. They are sisters and try to change their fate by choosing the life they want to lead rather than letting others decide for them.

Steve Ma, who played many leading roles in TV adaptations of Chiung's novels, played protagonist He Shiwei in the series. Due to his exaggerated expressions, especially loud cries, he is nicknamed as "Howler" or "King of Roar".

Romance in a Courtyard and Qin Han

The novel was adapted into a film in 1971 and a TV series in 1987. It is a love story between the son of a businessman and a woman worker from his family's tea garden.

The film starred Qin Han, who appeared in many other TV and film adaptations of Chiung's novels. Qin Han's fine acting skills were noted in Taiwan at the time. Along with another three popular actors and actresses, Brigitte Lin, Fengjiao Lin, Charlie Qin, they were called the "Two Lins and Two Qins" in Taiwan.
