Philip Roth, a dominant force in American literature throughout the latter half of the 20th century, has died at the age of 85, New Yorker magazine reported.
Roth was the author of “American Pastoral,” which won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1998.
The New York Times confirmed the death of the late writer who lived in New York and Connecticut, citing a close friend.
