As Beijing prepares to host a dialogue among Asian countries in May, a sideline event of the conference will host international visitors in Hangzhou City, east China's Zhejiang Province.
The Gourmet Hangzhou Asian Food Festival will feature exhibitions on local delicacies and tableware, forums on Asian food, civilization, and tea culture, as well as a series of cultural activities centered around the 19th Asian Olympics which will be held in Hangzhou in 2022.
The organizers have unveiled four competitions, calling for entries from foodies worldwide: A logo design competition, photography and video competition, a comic contest, and a competition to select the best chefs in Hangzhou.
A panel of judges will evaluate all the pieces and select 5 works for a top prize, two second place prizes, and two third place prizes. The first prize will be 20,000 yuan, the second prize 10,000 yuan, and the third prize 5,000 yuan.
The winning works will be displayed during the Asian Food Festival. Details of the Comic Competition and the chef competition haven't been unveiled yet.
