A fair kicked off Oct 3 in Yuanmingyuan Ruins Park in Beijing, selling souvenirs based on the compound's rich culture.
Yuanmingyuan, or Old Summer Palace, was the royal resort of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) before it was burned and rooted by invading Anglo-French forces in 1860.
In recent years archaeological and historical studies have brought decorative patterns from cultural relics and former royal collections in Yuanmingyuan as inspirations for souvenirs.
More than 20 series of products, including 800 varieties, have been developed, covering everything from stationary to dinning ware and from clothes to food.
The fair is to rununtil Oct 31, and the souvenirs are available for sale on the park's WeChat account.
