Fifteen foreign writers, translators and publishers were awarded the Special Book Award of China on Friday for their contributions to introducing Chinese culture to the world.
Among the winners is Swedish sinologist Lennart Lundberg, who has been devoted to Chinese literature translation for over 50 years.
William Nienhauser, a translator from the United States, also received the award. He is dedicated to the translation of classical Chinese literature and the promotion of cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
The winners from 15 countries watched the award ceremony online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Inaugurated in 2005, the Special Book Award of China is the country's top publication honor, distinguishing foreigners for making great contributions to the introduction and promotion of China, Chinese culture and Chinese publications to the world.
There have been 153 winners from 54 countries since 2005.
