The 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit will be held in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, on June 9-10. In a bid to promote economic and cultural exchange among the organization's member states and improve regional cooperation and development, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Forum will be held during the summit.
Officials from the SCO Secretariat and member states, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as well as the heads of some industrial committees, business representatives and scholars will attend the meeting.
Chinese baijiu maker Anhui Gujing Distillery Co Ltd is a cooperative partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Forum this year, according to the organizing committee. Its products will be the official liquor for entertaining guests, showing China's special culture to the world. Baijiu is a grain-based liquor that has been produced in China since ancient times.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established in Shanghai in 2001, with China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as founding members. India and Pakistan joined during the Astana summit in 2017. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Forum will be the first such forum since India and Pakistan became member states last year.
Gujing Distillery, a forerunner of Chinese baijiu internationalization, has joined hands with World Expo for fourth straight year to showcase China's baijiu culture. It also launched a baijiu culture global tour in the United States, France and Poland. Last year, Gujing Distillery's products became the official liquor of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat and debuted at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
