China on Friday reiterated that the country firmly opposes unilateralism and trade protectionism.
The position was outlined by Lu Kang, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference after Washington implemented tariffs on 34 billion US dollars' worth of Chinese imports.
China imposed countermeasures on U.S. goods at 12:01 BJT on Friday, immediately after US tariffs came into force, Xinhua reported, citing the customs authority.
