The economic and trade consultations between China and the U.S. are proceeding smoothly as the two sides will push forward various aspects of the consultations as planned, said Geng Shuang, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during a regular press conference on Friday.
"We hope the two sides can find a proper solution to the trade issue based on mutual respect and equal treatment," said Geng.
"The two heads of state are keeping in touch in various ways," added Geng.
