China says tariffs should be reduced for phase one trade deal with U.S.

The Chinese Commerce Ministry said Thursday that if China and the U.S. reach a phase one trade agreement, the tariffs should be reduced.

Both sides are maintaining close communication, ministry spokesperson Gao Feng told reporters.
