Chinese authorities on Tuesday stressed supporting private enterprises in the movie industry and enhancing Chinese films' global competitiveness to promote high-quality development.
Addressing a work conference in Beijing on Tuesday, Wang Xiaohui, head of the State Film Administration, said the film industry in China should unleash its consumption potential in rural areas, expand its global presence and harness both movie theaters and online video platforms in its development.
The meeting also called for diversified, sustainable movie productions in the face of COVID-19.
