(ECNS) -- The 1 trillion yuan (about $140.98 billion) of additional government bonds for disaster relief and response have been fully allocated, which will provide support for over 15,000 projects approved last year, said Lou Qinjian, spokesman for the second session of the 14th National People's Congress during a press conference on Monday.
He said multiple places in China were hit by floods, tornado rains, typhoons and other natural disasters, resulting in heavy losses last summer.
According to Lou, flood prevention and disaster relief were top priorities to the central committee and comprehensive arrangements were made to support rebuilding.
This year, the NPC's Standing Committee will continue to supervise the management and utilization of the additional government bonds and urge the state council departments to better manage the projects and make sure the use of the bonds, he added.
