Zhejiang breaks the $7,000 threshold in per capita disposable income

East China's Zhejiang province broke the 50,000 yuan ($7,020) threshold in terms of per capita disposable income for the first time during the Jan-Sept period this year, reaching 52,206 yuan to secure the third spot among the 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in the Chinese mainland, Economic Views reported on Wednesday, quoting the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

According to the NBS, China's gross domestic product for the first three quarters of the year amounted to 94.97 trillion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 4.8 percent at constant prices. The national per capita disposable income stood at 30,941 yuan, showing a nominal increase of 5.2 percent compared to the same period last year, and a real growth of 4.9 percent after adjusting for price factors.

In the first three quarters, Shanghai registered the highest per capita disposable income at 66,341 yuan, followed closely by Beijing at 64,314 yuan. Tianjin, Jiangsu, and Guangdong had per capita incomes exceeding 40,000 yuan, with Guangdong surpassing the 40,000 yuan threshold for the first time at 41,037 yuan.

Fujian, Shandong, and Chongqing posted per capita disposable incomes exceeding 30,000 yuan, with Chongqing breaking the 30,000 yuan mark for the first time at 30,792 yuan. Additionally, Guizhou exceeded the 20,000 yuan mark for the first time at 20,866 yuan.

During the first three quarters, Shanghai, Beijing, Zhejiang, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Fujian, and Shandong all had per capita disposable incomes surpassing the national average of 30,941 yuan.

The per capita disposable income in all 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities increased during the first three quarters. Sixteen regions, namely Xizang, Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Sichuan, Guangxi, Qinghai, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Yunnan, Henan, Hebei, Guizhou, Chongqing, and Anhui, outperformed the national average in income growth. Xizang took the lead with a growth rate of 8.1 percent.

During the first three quarters, the national average per capita wage income was 17,696 yuan, increasing by 5.7 percent and accounting for 57.2 percent of disposable income.

The average per capita net operating income was 4,939 yuan, increasing by 6.4 percent and representing 16.0 percent of disposable income.

The average per capita net property income was 2,585 yuan, growing by 1.2 percent and comprising 8.4 percent of disposable income. The average per capita net transfer income was 5,721 yuan, growing by 4.9 percent and making up 18.5 percent of disposable income.
