Foreign military attaches from nearly 60 countries have been invited to visit the Ministry of National Defense's peacekeeping center, a military source said Wednesday.

The foreign military attaches, stationed in China, were invited by the office for international military cooperation of the Central Military Commission (CMC). They also shared the experience and discussed UN peacekeeping operations with the Chinese side, according to the military source.

The military attaches said China has long been actively participating in UN peacekeeping missions and played an important role in stabilizing international and regional situations. They expressed hope to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the Chinese side on UN peacekeeping missions and make greater contributions to safeguarding world peace.

China has joined 24 operations, sending more than 36,000 peacekeepers, since the country first participated in UN peacekeeping missions in 1990.
