China and India are having consultations on holding the 9th round of the corps commander level meeting, a military spokesperson said on Thursday.
Tan Kefei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, said at a press conference that since the eighth round of China-India Corps Commander Level Meeting, the two sides have maintained consultations on frontline troop disengagement and strengthened border troops management.
The situation in the border areas is generally stable, said Tan.
China is willing to maintain communication with India via military and diplomatic channels, Tan stressed, expressing the hope that India will work with China towards the same goal, implement the consensus reached at the meetings, and take practical measures to further abate the tension in border areas.
