Major Chinese universities have begun their new student orientation programs, but have you ever seen schools using warships and Y-20 large transport aircraft to send students to school?

On August 15, some carrier-based aircraft flight students from the Naval Aviation University gathered at a military port in Qingdao, East China's Shandong Province. Around 8 am, to the sound of drums, the new students lined up neatly and passed through the "departure gate," boarding the Zhenghe training ship, docked at the pier to travel to school, according to the official account of news center of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

This marks the first time the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy has used a warship to deliver carrier-based aircraft flight students for registration, Chinese media outlet Guangming Daily reported.

The Naval Aviation University issued specially designed "tickets" for the new students to commemorate the start of this new journey. The students exclaimed that they were filled with a sense of ceremony and honor.

Below the "ticket" was the university's motto, encouraging students to be loyal, brave, magnanimous, and enterprising.

Female students trained by the university's carrier-based aircraft program arrived at the site to share their best wishes to the new students: "Welcome, younger brothers, to join the Naval Aviation University. We hope you dare to challenge and strive to achieve your dreams at sea and in the sky."

During the ship crossing, the school also organized deck oaths, ship tours, and other activities, providing the students with a unique "first lesson." They sailed at sea for a day and night, arriving at Yantai Port before heading to the university for registration.

In addition to traveling to school by warship, another group of new students recently arrived via Y-20 large transport aircraft

From August 1 to 2, the PLA Air Force used multiple Y-20 aircraft to transport newly admitted flight students to the Aviation University of Air Force for registration in six cities including Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Ji'nan, Nanjing, Changsha, and Chengdu, according to news report by military channel of the state broadcaster CCTV.

"Welcome to join the People's Air Force. The sky is where heroes grow, and flying is the most honorable career. We are honored to accompany you as you embark on the inaugural journey of your flying career," said the Y-20 captain on behalf of the crew after takeoff, encouraging the new flight students.

Many netizens jokingly commented, "Is it too late to start preparing for the college entrance exam again?" Many also gave their thumbs-up to those new students, praising them "the pride of their parents."
