The China Coast Guard said on Friday that it monitored the Philippines' resupply to its warship illegally grounded in Ren'ai Reef in South China Sea on Thursday.
The CCG spokesperson Liu Dejun said in a statement that, in accordance with a temporary arrangement reached between China and the Philippines, the Philippines dispatched one civilian boat to transport living supplies to its illegally grounded warship in Ren'ai Reef on Thursday.
The China Coast Guard inquired and confirmed the Philippine boat and monitored the whole process, he said.
He expressed hope that the Philippine side would uphold its commitment, move toward China, and jointly manage the maritime situation.
"The China Coast Guard will continue to lawfully conduct rights protection and law enforcement activities in Nansha Islands, including Ren'ai Reef, and its adjacent waters," the spokesperson said.
