The Chinese mainland strongly opposes foreign intervention regarding Taiwan's participation in the activities of international organizations, said a mainland spokesman on Wednesday.
An Fengshan, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the comments when responding a question regarding Taiwan reportedly applying for participation in the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) General Assembly this year.
The Taiwan issue is China's domestic affair, and China has always handled issues relating to Taiwan's participation in the activities of international organizations in line with the one-China principle, An said.
An also said that Taiwan's participation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings should be in line with the relevant memorandum of understanding.
The Chinese mainland has been "quite clear about the issue," An said.
