The focus of cultural-ethical development in 2018 should be guiding officials and the public in consciously safeguarding the core status of General Secretary Xi Jinping in the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the whole Party, a senior Party official said Monday.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while addressing a plenary session of the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress.
The guidance should also focus on upholding the authority of and the centralized, unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, said Wang, also head of the commission.
In further cultivating core socialist values, Wang called for efforts to promote China's fine traditional culture and ethical education among teenagers.
The leadership of the CPC over the cultural-ethical progress should also be strengthened, Wang said.
