Iranian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned a recent U.S. court ruling on Iran's role in the 2001 terror attacks as "biased, politically-motivated and baseless."
Tehran rejects such cross-border and illegal verdicts, the ministry's spokesman Bahram Qasemi was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.
Earlier this month, a court ruling by a federal judge in New York ordered Iran to pay more than 6 billion U.S. dollars to the families of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks in New York.
Such verdicts were issued without any solid evidence on Iran's role in the 9/11 attacks, and in defiance of even U.S. official reports which confirm that the organizers and culprits of the terrorist catastrophe were from the U.S. regional allies, Qasemi said.
Iran has lodged its strong protest against the U.S. administration through official channels, he added.
